Middlesboro Fire Department has responded to an unoccupied house fire off of Englewood Road which is blocked in the area as firefighters put out the flames. No word on the cause of the fire yet. A Middlesboro Firefighter was injured while fighting the blaze. He was taken to Middlesboro ARH Hospital for his non-life threatening injuries and then flown to UT Hospital and is now stable. The house was unoccupied and appears to be a total loss.

Update on injured city of Middleboro firefighter. Firefighter received non life threatening injuries to his right leg during fire suppression operations on Englewood road. While positioning at the rear of structure to knock down wind driven fire that was threatening another structure the firefighters right leg Broke through the floor of the deck causing him to fall. He sustained injuries to his knee (dislocated) and a fracture to his ankle. He is currently at home in good spirits and awaiting a follow-up with orthopedic surgeon for future care. Our department ask for prayers for a complete and speedy recovery for our member.
