SYRACUSE, N.Y. — A Syracuse firefighter is being treated for minor injuries on his leg after while putting out a house fire on Mildred Avenue in Syracuse Friday evening.
The fire started shortly after 5 p.m., and fire crews worked to contain the flames as they extended into the attic and onto the porch of the home.
Firefighters were able to get inside the upper levels of the home but were forced to exit the building and continue to fight the fire from outside as the conditions worsened. The fire was extinguished in just over an hour.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and it is still unclear if anyone was inside the home when the fire broke out.
