A firefighter was injured at a house fire in Moline on Sunday.
It happened around 6:19 p.m. in the 1700 block of 11th Street.
A fully engulfed unattached garage spread to a duplex.
Residents had exited the duplex before emergency crews arrived and firefighters had the fires under control in about 30 minutes.
Two residents were displaced from their home and are being helped by the Red Cross. Three other properties were damaged from the radiant heat, according to the Moline Fire Department.
The firefighter was treated and transported to the hospital with a non-life threatening injury.
Moline Fire said the initial response included “17 on-duty personnel occupying three engine
companies, one aerial unit, a command vehicle and two ambulances.”
The East Moline, Rock Island and Arsenal Fire Departments also assisted, as well as Moline Second Alarmers, MidAmerican Energy and the aforementioned Red Cross.
The fire is being investigated by the Moline Fire Department Bureau of Investigations.
