A fire that broke out at a Disabled American Veterans building yesterday afternoon sent one firefighter to the hospital with significant injuries. They received a number of calls that heavy smoke could be seen for blocks.
Fire was coming out the east side of the building when firefighters arrived. Portions of the ceiling started to collapse and that is when the firefighter was injured. It took about 15 minutes to put the fire out.
