We regret to advise you that a Belgium Firefighter was struck and killed in the Line of Duty today. Firefighter Ernest Robey 57 years old from the Willebroek Fire Department in Belgium was hit and ran over by fire apparatus. The crash occured during a run on Highway A12 heading to Anvers. The fire apparatus was backing up when Firefighter Robey somehow slipped off a ladder area of the rig and was run over by the apparatus. Firefighters from the City of Purrs where called mutual aid to cover and the Willebroek Firefighters were placed out of service. The driver of the apparatus has been hospitalized in shock over the death of his Brother Firefighter.
