3/30/1905 a Bronx, New York (FDNY) firefighter “was killed when he was caught in falling debris in a subway tunnel, as he and other firefighters were washing out remains from a fire from the day before.”

3/30/1923 two Manhattan, New York (FDNY) firefighters “were killed when they were caught under a collapsing wall while operating at a five-alarm fire in a four-story brick and stone commercial occupancy, which housed a laundry and a paper-box factory. At least sixteen other firefighters were injured in the collapse. The building was heavily involved in fire and had spread to two adjoining buildings. Firefighters worked for ten hours fighting the blaze and digging out their trapped comrades.”

3/30/1944 a Brooklyn, New York (FDNY) firefighter and three of other firefighters were injured in an explosion in a restaurant at 571 Fulton Street.

3/30/1954 a Lancaster, PA firefighter died “while leading his crew on an interior attack at a very stubborn and smoky fire involving a factory, he collapsed after being severely overcome by smoke and heat.”

3/30/1964 three Dalton, GA firefighters “died of the injuries they sustained after a wall had collapsed on them while they were operating at the Commercial Mills, Inc. building fire, at 107 E. Walnut Street.”

3/30/1967 a Jersey City, NJ firefighter “died in the performance of his duties while operating at a two-alarm fire at 818-22 Pavonia Ave.”

3/30/2010 a Homewood, IL firefighter died “during search and rescue operations at a residential fire. Homewood firefighters were dispatched to the fire around 9:00 p.m. Upon arriving at the home, firefighters learned from an elderly, female resident who had escaped the fire that her partially paralyzed husband was trapped inside the house. Firefighters entered the structure in an attempt to rescue the homeowner, but one firefighter suffered fatal injuries when the fire intensified. He was transported to South Suburban Hospital with smoke inhalation and burn injuries, but efforts to revive him were unsuccessful. The homeowner also died as a result of the fire, and another firefighter was hospitalized with burn injuries sustained inside the house.”

3/30/2015 a very suspicious fire broke out hours before the scheduled start of the trial of a man who is accused of raping a 10-year-old girl that killed her and two others in Mahoning County (Youngstown) Ohio. “On literally the eve of trial, hours before this trial was supposed to begin, this victim dies in a fire…”

3/30/1972 Petrobras refinery fire killed thirty-eight in Duque de Caxias, Brazil.

3/30/1906 the administration building, the main structure, of the University of Idaho in Moscow was destroyed by fire that started in the basement of the girls’ restaurant.

3/30/1902 the Cincinnati, OH Opera House caught fire during a performance, all two thousand people were safely evacuated from the fire that started in the basement during matinee performance.

3/30/1902 the St Boniface Catholic Church in Evansville, IN was destroyed by fire after a lightning strike.

3/30/1898 the Washington Opera House and the Mason County Library were destroyed by fire in Maysville, KY.

3/30/1894 the Barry, IL business section, including fifty stores, the jail, and the courthouse were destroyed by fire.

3/30/1879 the Oshkosh, WI Horn & Schwain Brewery burned from a fire that broke out near the boiling kettles in the early evening.

3/30/1860 the Independence, MO conflagration started in the drug store on the southeast corner of the public square, and destroyed or damaged several dwellings.
