FIRE APPARATUS CRASH IN PA…..APPARATUS HAD THE GREEN LIGHT

An Allentown city fire apparatus was involved in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon and four people from the car went to the hospital. Ladder 2 was responding to a gas leak in the 800 block of Allen St. when it collided with a car about 5:25 p.m. Four people from the car were taken to Sacred Heart Hospital in unknown conditions. Neither of the two firefighters on the truck was hurt. The truck stopped at Sixth and Tilghman, then proceeded through a green traffic light. The car’s driver, heading north on Sixth Street, came through the intersection and tried to avoid the truck but could not. The car hit the truck’s front bumper.
