(KNSI) — The St. Michael Fire Department says a firefighter was injured Saturday after an incident during an emergency response over the weekend.
On its Facebook page, the City of St. Michael said the accident happened Saturday at Highway 241 and O’Day Avenue. Crews were responding to an emergency on Interstate 94, and due to icy conditions, one of its engines was involved in an accident while en route to the scene.
The firefighter suffered minor injuries, and no other vehicles were involved.
It also included a statement, “The safety of our firefighters and the community remains our top priority, and we are grateful that all personnel are safe.”
City officials say they “appreciate the support and understanding of the community as we assess the situation and ensure our continued readiness to serve.”
