It is with deep sadness that we regret to inform the Fire Family and Community of the passing of an Active Hilton Fire Dept member. Jason Hasenhauer, a recent graduate of the Monroe County Fire Recruit program, past explorer and active firefighter on Military leave with the Hilton FD, has been killed while serving with the United States Army in Afghanistan on Tuesday. He had been in Baghdad recently and was looking forward to coming home to see his family, girlfriend and newborn daughter. Jason was always thinking of others even while away from the fire family. Just Monday, he called the fire house to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. Jason is survived by his family in Hilton which includes several brothers, his mom and dad, of which dad was a member of the dept. and his younger brother Danny who recently became an active member after serving several years in the explorer program. He will be missed by all in his family and the family at the fire house. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. We are proud to have had you as a member and a brother! Thank you Jason for what you did to serve your country so that others may have a better and safer life.
