Hey,
A fire in Asbury Park New Jersey this morning went to 3 alarms and sent one Firefighter, acting truck Captain Jason Fazio to the hospital with very serious injuries. He and his partner were reportedly performing a search on the second floor of the two story attached building, middle of the row, when he became separated and his escape route was cut off by the fire. Reports are that the Captain ended up jumping from the 2nd floor window, suffering burns and inhalation injuries from the fire as well as numerous fractures.
He was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center (regional trauma center) initially and was later medivac’d to Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center (state trauma center/burn unit) in New Brunswick, NJ. More info to follow.
