OKLAHOMA CITY —
A firefighter was injured while battling a three-alarm fire Sunday at a vacant building near Douglass High School in northeast Oklahoma City.
Fire officials said they battled a blaze at what they believe was a vacant building near Northeast 10th Street and North Martin Luther King Avenue. Police officials also told KOCO 5 that the wind made things more difficult for firefighters.
The injured firefighter suffered first-degree burns to his forehead because the heat was so intense, fire department officials said. EMSA crews evaluated the firefighter at the scene, and he then continued to fight the fire.
The building is considered a total loss. Authorities will investigate how the fire started.
