A 26-year-old civilian was killed last night in a crash with a responding fire apparatus in Florida. At around 2100 hours, the civilian was driving a pick-up truck east bound while a fire apparatus driven by a Hernando County Firefighter/Paramedic was reportedly heading in the opposite direction. Apparently the civilian veered his truck into the westbound lanes and collided with the front of the fire apparatus. The civilian was pronounced dead at the scene by Hernando County Fire Rescue. The Firefighter driving the apparatus and another Firefighter were transported with minor injuries.
