One person was killed after a crash between an ambulance and a car last Friday, in Hamilton, Ohio near Cincinnati. A civilian, 18, was driving southbound on US 127 when he crossed left of center into the northbound lanes. A Kettering Medical Services unit ended up hitting the passenger side of the car. According to the Butler County Coroner, the 18-year-old sustained multiple traumatic injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 1742 hrs.

A deranged defendant with a lengthy rap sheet was convicted today for murdering a beloved Bronx FDNY EMT with her own hijacked ambulance, ending a nearly six-year wait for justice by her heartbroken family and friends.

Jose Gonzalez, 31, heard the verdict following a month-long trial and two days of deliberations in the gruesome killing of veteran EMT Yadira Arroyo, the mother of five sons. He stood impassively as the decision was announced.

Gonzalez was charged with twice running down the EMT with the stolen truck in the March 16, 2017, killing that shocked the city and devastated her colleagues FDNY members and family wept in the courtroom and shared hugs outside with the victim’s family.

The decision came eight days before the sixth anniversary of the death of the 44 year old, who was revered by her co-workers. The case was repeatedly delayed by more than 50 hearings before Gonzalez was finally deemed mentally fit to face a Bronx jury.

==GUILTY IN DEATH OF PA FIREFIGHTER.
A New Jersey woman has been sentenced to 12 to 24 years in prison in the Line of Duty Death of a Firefighter struck along with two other firefighters and a state trooper as they were responding to a crash on Interstate 76 in suburban Philadelphia more than a year and a half ago.
Jacquelyn Walker, 64, of Little Egg Harbor, wept as the sentence was imposed Thursday in Montgomery County in the July 2021 death of 48-year-old Thomas Royds, a longtime member of the Belmont Hills Fire Department.

Walker pleaded guilty in October to third-degree murder, aggravated assault by vehicle and reckless endangerment. Authorities said she drove onto the shoulder and swerved into Royds, two other firefighters and a state police trooper who were responding to a 3 a.m. crash on the side of the highway.

The wife and three children of an on-duty Chicago firefighter were critically injured in a house fire Tuesday night on Chicago’s Northwest Side. Firefighters rescued a woman, her two young daughters and son, who all suffered severe smoke inhalation. An adult and two children were taken to Stroger Hospital. Another child was transported to Community First hospital,
A 34-year-old woman and three young children — a boy, 7, and two girls, ages 7 and 2, all remain hospitalized in critical condition due to smoke inhalation suffered as a result of the fire.

CFD spokesman Larry Langford said the home where the fire occurred is that of an active Chicago firefighter, who was on-duty at the time of the blaze. Langford said the firefighter rushed to the scene after hearing his own address come over the radio. His fellow firefighters huddled around to show their support. Neighbors watched emotionally as CFD paramedics rapidly performed CPR.
