Pikesville Volunteer firefighters didn’t have far to go for a working vehicle rescue on Wednesday night March 2, with the crash occurring in the firehouse parking lot. Shortly after 7:30 p.m., a PVFC member leaving the station noticed a Land Rover SUV on top of a parked Chevy passenger car. Upon further investigation, he found a deceased female partially underneath the car. PVFC crews notified Baltimore County Fire Dispatch of the incident, and Rescue Box 2-13 was dispatched. PVFC Tower 323 and Medic 325 responded, along with BCoFD Station 2 (Pikesville career), Lutherville Volunteers Squad 303 (PVFC’s squad is out of service), BC22 and EMS8. Firefighters stabilized the vehicles in order to remove the victim, and turned the scene over to the Medical Examiner’s Office and Baltimore County Police, whose Crash Team is investigating the incident. Officials said the SUV apparently was driven in reverse from the rear of a Walker Avenue office building, struck several signs and a BGE pole, jumped onto a grassy berm and crashed into the Chevy car. The SUV’s driver’s door was apparently torn off during the incident and the victim was ejected from the vehicle. PVFC extends condolences to the victim.
