All,
A man and a woman were killed after they crashed into an LA County fire truck just after midnight Wednesday in West Rancho Dominguez.
Surveillance footage (below) shows the moment of impact between a blue PT Cruiser and the fire truck. Two people in the PT Cruiser were killed and the California Highway Patrol confirms the victims were a 28-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman identified as Asia Allen-Bookman.
Witnesses say at first they believed it was a result of street racing, but family members say they were being chased. “My sister wasn’t speed racing, my sister wasn’t irresponsible,” Tiffany Acker, Allen-Bookman’s sister, said. “She’s 25 years old. At 25 we do silly things, but my sister knew she had a child to get home to.
CHP confirmed that speed was a factor in the crash. Four firefighters were inside the truck at the time of the collision and were taken to the hospital with non critical injuries. The fire truck was en route to another traffic collision at the time of the crash.
