EYES WIDE OPEN-Firefighter Survival Video (The Secret List)

All,
While there are the known risks faced by you and us on roadways and highways daily, this is a new low.

As you will see in this video, a woman decides to ram a fire apparatus head on. She again rams the fire apparatus head on-that’s twice. She’s mad.
Take THAT fire apparatus.

On a very serious note, while very thankfully no Horry County (South Carolina) Firefighters (or cops, EMS etc) were hurt, consider the potential. Imagine a crew pulling a bumper line or a front mounted jaws of life-or simply walking in front of their apparatus.

We have all seen frustrated drivers annoyed when we are tending to victims and delaying their travel…and that just adds one more aspect of risk your members take everyday on the road.

Sadly, between distracted drivers, impaired drivers, road rage and the clueless-you are at GREAT RISK when operating on roadways no matter how minor the incident may seem. EXPECT the unexpected by specific policy that addresses training & preparedness for it.

EYES WIDE OPEN.
Take Care. Be Careful. Pass It On.
