EAST HAVEN, Conn. (WFSB) – The East Haven Fire Department is asking for help after one of their firetrucks was the victim of a hit-and-run.
The crash occurred at around 6:38 p.m. while the firetruck was traveling northbound on Hemingway Avenue on its way to a structure fire in the Foxon area.
Fire officials say the truck, engine 4, had its emergency lights and sirens activated when a red Scion TC, possibly with black doors, turned directly in front of it.
The driver of the Scion fled the scene northbound on Hemingway Avenue before turning westbound onto Edward Street.
The fire department is asking residents to check their surveillance cameras for footage.
