ENGINE GOES FOR A SWIM IN MAINE

Firefighters in St. Albans are trying to figure out why one of their engines rolled in a stream Saturday afternoon.

We’re told crews were testing the pump operations on the engine at Indian Stream.

The truck rolled forward, sending part of the cab into the water.

Crews blocked off part of Corinna Road for a couple of hours while they worked to pull the fire engine out of the stream.

The D.E.P. was also called in for any chemicals or oil that may have spilled.

Firefighters say it appears mechanical failure is to blame.
