DRIVER CITED IN APPARATUS CRASH – TEXAS

SEGUIN, Texas — A driver was cited after a two-vehicle crash involving a Seguin Fire Department ladder truck Saturday evening, according to the Seguin Police Department.

Around 6 p.m. on July 25, officers responded to the intersection of North San Marcos Street and East Mountain Street for a reported traffic collision.

A preliminary investigation determined that a 2002 Honda Accord was traveling southbound in the 300 block of North San Marcos Street when the driver failed to stop at a posted stop sign. The vehicle entered the intersection and struck the passenger side of a Seguin Fire Department ladder truck.

The fire apparatus was traveling westbound in the 500 block of East Mountain Street and had the right of way. There is no stop sign controlling westbound traffic at that intersection.

No injuries were reported.

The driver of the Honda Accord was cited for disregard of a stop sign.

The Seguin Police Department reminds motorists to obey all traffic control devices and remain alert at intersections to help prevent crashes and improve roadway safety.
