8 Detroit Firefighters were hospitalized today, Thursday after a burning house collapsed.The fire was reported around 12:45 p.m. at the vacant building on West Hollywood Avenue.

At some point as crews were operating, the building collapsed, taking down and trapping two firefighters.

One member escaped on his own, but Firefighters worked nearly an hour to free the other. Good news that seven of the firefighters hospitalized were expected to be released tonight, while the eighth was listed in serious but condition.
