Gunfire struck a D.C. Firefighter who was tending to a shooting victim in Southwest Washington, DC this evening. A man and a woman were shot about 1620 hours in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven on MLK Avenue. Someone fired more shots at the scene a short time later, striking a D.C. Firefighter EMT who was treating one of the shooting victims and spraying a fire truck with bullets. The Firefighter suffered a graze wound to his leg, treated/transported and was later released from the hospital, doing well.
Fortunately their fire apparatus shielded some of members from getting hurt. Both the man and woman who were shot were conscious and breathing and have injuries that are not life-threatening. No motive was known for the attacks, and no arrest was reported.
