A vehicle driving through a crash scene Friday collided with a semi-truck and fire truck on Highway 101 near North Bend.
According to a Oregon State Police press release, at approximately 6:33 p.m., a 1986 Nissan 4×4 drove through a two-vehicle non-injury crash scene. The Nissan, driven by Charles D. Fickle, 23, of Reedsport was traveling north on the highway at Kadora Drive, when his car collided with a southbound semi-truck, then careened into a North Bay Rural Fire Protection District truck parked on the west shoulder. Neither Fickle, his passenger, nor other drivers were injured in the accident. The semi-truck sustained moderate damage, the fire truck was severely damaged and the Nissan was totaled, police said.
After the crash, Fickle was issued a citation for an open container, possession of less than 1 ounce of marijuana and driving uninsured. He also was issued citations for three counts of reckless endangerment, driving under the influence and reckless driving.
Fickle was transported to Coos County jail, where he was released Friday.
