The Churchville Volunteer Fire-Rescue recently found tire spikes in front of one of its fire apparatus parked in the station, the department said in a Facebook post.
A fire official with Churchville Volunteer Fire-Rescue said the bay doors were open for a short time after the crew came back from duty on the evening of Friday, April 19, 2025, whsv.com reported.
The station is located at 3829 Churchville Avenue, Churchville, Virginia.

“Last night between 8:30 and 9:45 we presume, someone placed these devices meant to puncture tires in front of one of our fire engines,” the Facebook post said. “We are reviewing camera footage and are asking for the community’s assistance in providing any info you may have witnessed or know of any cameras that are in the vicinity of the station that may shed light on who did this.
“It is disheartening for someone to take such dangerous measures against our equipment and staff. We intend to pursue this extensively until the person responsible is found.
“For any assistance please message us on Facebook or contact the station at 540-337-6043. If no one answers please leave a message.”
