ARKANSAS STATE POLICE CRASH REPORT RELEASED IN GREENBRIER ENGINE 1 ROLLOVER, DRIVER AND WITNESS STATEMENTS ALSO OBTAINED

Faulkner County Fire Buff has obtained the official eight page Arkansas State Police crash report, along with written statements from the driver and a witness, concerning the September 19, 2026, rollover of Greenbrier Fire Department’s Engine 1.
The records provide new details about the sequence of events leading to the rollover, the damage sustained by the apparatus, and the driver’s reported injuries.
🚒 WHAT INVESTIGATORS DOCUMENTED
According to the Arkansas State Police crash report, Engine 1 was traveling westbound on Highway 225 at approximately 1:16 p.m. when its rear passenger side wheels left the roadway.
The report states that the apparatus veered left in an attempt to return to the roadway before veering right, crossing the centerline, and entering the eastbound lane.
Engine 1 subsequently left the roadway, struck a culvert, crossed a roadway, entered a ditch, and overturned. The apparatus came to rest on its roof, facing northwest.
⚠️ DISCREPANCY IN CRASH LOCATION
The Arkansas State Police report identifies the crash location as Highway 225 at Wilson Farm Road, including references to Wilson Farm Road in the investigative narrative.
However, the rollover occurred near the intersection of Highway 225 and Tyler Street, not Wilson Farm Road.
The two intersections are separate locations along Highway 225. The discrepancy is being identified as part of FCFB’s review of the official records.
📋 KEY FINDINGS FROM THE REPORT
• Estimated Damage: Arkansas State Police documented approximately $100,000 in damage to the 1995 Pierce fire engine.
• Driver Injury: The report classifies the driver’s condition as a suspected minor injury. The driver was transported by Pafford EMS to Baptist Health Medical Center, Conway.
• Driver Actions: Investigators selected the reporting category “Inattentive, careless, negligent, or erratic operation.” This is a broad classification and does not independently establish a specific distraction, criminal offense, or final determination of fault.
• Mechanical Condition: Vehicle defects were recorded as unknown. The report does not establish a mechanical failure as the cause of the crash.
• Speed: The posted speed limit was 45 mph. The report does not establish the apparatus’s actual speed, and speeding related factors were recorded as unknown.
📝 DRIVER AND WITNESS STATEMENTS
Faulkner County Fire Buff has obtained written statements associated with the incident.
In the driver’s statement, Driver 1 described the rear wheels leaving the pavement, an attempt to return the apparatus to the roadway, and the rear of the truck fishtailing before control was lost.
