A Southern Paramedic Service ambulance was involved in a crash Tuesday in Arkansas, killing an EMS provider and injuring another, company officials said.
Elizabeth (Liz) Watkins, 25, from Conway, was identified by the company as the deceased emergency vehicle operator. The other EMT hurt in the crash was identified as Jonathan Johnson, 27, of Palestine. He was taken to a hospital in Memphis.
The crash happened when the ambulance was moving between ambulance stations, Southern Paramedic said in a Facebook post. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
“We are of course all devastated by the tragic loss of Liz, and we are praying for a speedy recovery of Jonathan,” said Gary Pudget, owner of Southern Paramedic. “We will continue to try and comfort the crew’s families as well as everyone else in our employ.”
