Three people were killed after an ambulance, that arrived at an accident spot to transport the injured to the hospital, got hit by an overspeeding vehicle. The accident occurred on the Chennai-Trichy highway in Perambalur on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday.
The initial accident involved 60-year-old Kuppusamy from Naagal in Dindigul, who was returning from Thiruvannamalai along with his relatives. His vehicle, approaching Perambalur, suddenly lost control and collided with a tractor at around 2:30 am. The accident caused severe injuries to Kuppusamy, the tractor driver Samidas, and another passenger, identified as Sekar.
