An ambulance from the Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad was involved in a crash Thursday night.
The wreck happened at the intersection of Lincoln Highway and Oxford Valley Road in Falls Township at 10:25 p.m.
No serious injuries were reported, Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad Chief Joel Rutkowski said.
Following the collision, the ambulance crew was taken to nearby Jefferson Bucks Hospital for evaluation. After being checked, they were released, Rutkowski said.
At the time of the crash, a patient was onboard the ambulance.
The patient was safely transferred to another ambulance and continued their journey to the hospital, Rutkowski told LevittownNow.com.
The crash left the ambulance with damage to its front, rendering it out of service for the foreseeable future.
The chief said there is a current shortage of ambulance chassis in the market, which could potentially prolong the time it takes to repair the damaged vehicle and get it back on the road.
Authorities were investigating the cause of the crash.
