Three London paramedics were shaken but not seriously hurt when their ambulance, its siren sounding and flashing, was struck by an SUV.
The paramedics had been driving south on Richmond St. responding to a call when an SUV travelling east pulled out in front of their path from Broughdale Ave. A witness said the SUV driver appeared to be making a left turn.
The collision propelled the vehicles into Richmond’s northbound lanes, where they struck a car whose driver had just pulled over to make way for the ambulance.
The driver of the car was taken to hospital, as were the paramedics, but no one was critically injured, officials said.
There were no patients in the ambulance at the time of the collision.
The crash backed up traffic on northbound Richmond St.
