The Arenac County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy was at the scene of a crash in the northbound lanes of I-75. A truck hauling a snowmobile trailer went off the road and crews were working on clearing the scene.
The AmeriPro ambulance, which was carrying a patient in the back, collided with the snowmobile trailer. The ambulance patient suffered minor injuries from the crash, but neither ambulance employee reported any injuries.
Police arrested the AmeriPro employee driving the ambulance due to a warrant for stalking issued by a police agency in Indiana. They later were released because Indiana authorities did not want to pick up the employee.
The sheriff’s office did not identify the ambulance employee on Monday because they had not appeared in court for arraignment.
The Arenac County Sheriff’s Office will continue investigating both crashes.
