DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) — An ambulance from Enterprise smashed into the side of a downtown Dothan business Friday morning after a two-vehicle crash.
According to Dothan Police Sergeant Andy Davis, Enterprise Rescue was traveling to Southeast Health with a trauma-alert patient when the ambulance went through a red light at the Main Street and North Saint Andrews Street intersection and collided with a truck.
The ambulance was traveling east on Main Street, and the truck was traveling north on Saint Andrews Street.
Sgt Davis says the truck driver was going through the intersection and did not hear the ambulance approaching.
After the ambulance hit the truck, it ran off the road and hit the side of the Lidden Furniture building. The side of the building depicted the mural Salute to the Peanut Industry.
The patient in the ambulance was not injured from the crash and was transported to Southeast Health via Pilchers Ambulance.
Dothan Fire and Rescue, Dothan Police, and Pilchers Ambulance responded to the scene.
