BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Wednesday morning, emergency crews responded to a crash involving one of their own and a school bus.
Police say two Rural Metro workers were taken to the hospital after their ambulance was hit by a school bus at Bailey Avenue and East Ferry around 7 a.m. There were no children on the bus at the time of the crash.
The ambulance then struck an external wall of Harmac Medical Products Inc., which is located at the intersection. The building did receive damage to the wall.
The ambulance was not responding to a call at the time.
The bus driver and an aide were not hurt. The First Student bus company was issued a summons for failure to yield the right of way. Officers say the bus attempted to make a left turn in front of the ambulance.
