LEDUC, ALTA. — An ambulance carrying two patients has crashed into a semi-trailer hauling pipe south of Edmonton.
Drew Doering of Parkland Ambulance says the patients had already been involved in another accident and were being transported to hospital.
One of the patients ended up being transported to hospital in Edmonton by air ambulance.
The second patient and two paramedics were also taken to hospital but their conditions were unknown.
The chain-reaction incident began when a truck spun out of control on the Queen Elizabeth II Highway. The semi was able to stop but the ambulance could not and crashed into it.
