AL. FIREFIGHTER LODD- RETURNING TO QUARTERS APPARATUS CRASH AFTER FIRE

All,

We regret to pass on that an Alabama Firefighter, 71, died in the Line of Duty in a crash after working an overnight house fire outside the Fayette city limits, west of Birmingham. It happened at 0500 this morning on Fayette County Road 80. The veteran Firefighter crashed the 1,000-gallon pumper and it was the Fire Chief who found him.

The Lawrence Mill Volunteer Firefighter died less than 2 miles from fire scene he was returning from.

The Firefighter was 71 years old, and was one of the founding members of the Lawrence Mill VFD. More to follow. Our condolences to all those affected. Rest In Peace.

Take Care. Be Careful. Pass It On.
