All,
DeKalb County Fire Chief Darnell Fullem identified the Fallen Member as Master Firefighter Preston Fant.
MFF Fant is the first DeKalb County Firefighter to have died in the line of duty while fighting a fire. He’s spent all 21 years of his service with the department at Fire Station #24 on Redan Road.
MFF Fant leaves behind a wife and five children …and many of his fellow firefighters described him as a father figure.
HERE is the news conference with video from the fire scene.
Much more to follow.
Take care. Be careful. Pass it on.
