All,
We regret to pass on the Line of Duty Death of Lieutenant Brian Hatt of the Raywick (Kentucky) Fire Department. (Raywick is approximately 45 miles south of Louisville in Marion County.)
Lieutenant Hatt sustained critical injuries in that single-vehicle apparatus rollover last Friday afternoon while responding to a tractor-trailer fire. He passed away Monday afternoon.
Firefighter Leonard Winkler also sustained serious injuries in the crash, though they were not life-threatening. He is recovering at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
Lieutenant Hatt was 51 years old, is an organ donor and has served with the Raywick Fire Department for 12 years.
He is survived by his wife, Tonya, and three children. He retired from the U.S. Army.
Memorial details will be posted on www.SupportingHeroes.org when available.
Our condolences to all those affected. Rest in peace.
Take care. Be careful. Pass it on.
