MASSACHUSETTS AMBULANCE STRUCK AT INTERSECTION

ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WPRI) — A Brewster Ambulance was involved in a crash while transporting an 8-year-old girl between hospitals.

The Attleboro Fire Department said the ambulance was hit by another vehicle just after 1 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Pleasant and Emory streets.

The patient was being taken from Sturdy Memorial Hospital to Hasbro Children’s Hospital at the time. She was not injured, according to the fire department, and neither were the EMTs.

The driver of the second vehicle was taken to Sturdy with non-life-threatening injuries, fire officials said.

A second ambulance was called in to finish transferring the girl to Hasbro.

The area was closed to traffic for about a half-hour.
