On scene of an MVA incident with a single vehicle off the roadway on Interstate 55 mm 151 NB near McLean, IL EMS crews, local police and Illinois State Police on scene, all units parked on the right shoulder. A mutual aid ambulance arrived on scene and had just parked on the right shoulder ahead of all other apparatus. Within seconds, a single car had slowed down in the left lane and had slightly moved over, car traveling at a faster speed rearended the car shoving it into the guardrail and the second car slid past the ambulance sideways stopping in the middle of highway. Had the driver stepped out of the ambulance, he could’ve been struck. All caught on dash camera from patrol cars. At the time of the close call, crews were extricating the patient from the initial crash and had just arrived minutes before.
