We regret to pass on to you that Dundee/Wayne Township (Tuscarawas County, South of Cleveland) volunteer Firefighter Ruben E. Mast, 43, died in the Line of Duty after a traffic crash while reportedly responding to a call at around 1700 hours this evening, Monday. Firefighter Mast was transported to Union Hospital in Dover, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
FF Mast was driving eastbound in a 2008 Ford F-250 truck when he lost control and went left of center, over-corrected and struck a guardrail before the truck overturned. He was ejected from the truck and preliminary investigation indicates that he wasn’t using his seat belt.
