WEARE, N.H. — Police in Weare said a man was arrested early Sunday morning after driving drunk and crashing his truck on South Stark Highway at the intersection of Gould Road.
Officers responded to the accident just after midnight Sunday after witnesses reported that a man was drunk and walking around his vehicle, wearing only his underwear.
Police said the driver, John Drouin, 39, was evaluated on the scene by Weare EMS for possible injuries suffered in the accident. After being placed in the ambulance, police said Drouin became combative and assaulted a female EMT. At one point, officials said Drouin had to be tased.
Authorities said Drouin was taken to the hospital where he was held overnight for observation. He was later charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, simple assault and resisting arrest. Drouin is scheduled to be arraigned in Goffstown District Court on Nov. 30.
