An ambulance taking a man in cardiac arrest to the hospital Monday morning was hit by another car at an intersection in North Austin.
Austin/Travis County EMS spokesperson Warren Hassinger said the ambulance had responded to a man found unresponsive under the bridge.
The ambulance was crossing through the intersection of Research Boulevard and Olhen Road when another car ran a red light and t-boned it, Hassinger said. Hassinger also reported that driver did not have a driver’s license or insurance.
The ambulance had to wait 10 minutes for another to arrive to the scene. Five people were inside of the ambulance at the time, and all only suffered minor injuries.
