Cynthia Jennings, 48, and Charles Flynn, 71, both of Deerbrook, suffered minor injures when the ambulance Jennings was driving slid off the road at about 3:25 a.m., just east of Highway S, Marathon County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Dale Wisnewski said this morning.

Jennings sustained a leg injury and Flynn a head laceration. Medical crews transported them to Aspirus Wausau Hospital, where both were treated and released, according to a hospital spokesman. The Sheriff’s Department cited Jennings for driving at a speed too fast for conditions, Wisnewski said.

The ambulance was transporting Patricia Henke, 29, of Antigo, and her 19-month-old child to Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield when the accident occurred. Neither Henke nor her child was injured.

Wisnewski said authorities had received reports of other accidents this morning caused by slippery roads. Roads in Central Wisconsin are considered snow covered and slippery, according to the state Department of Transportation.
