CHICAGO RESPONDING APPARATUS CRASH:
Yesterday afternoon, a Chicago FD Engine 4 was responding to a medical emergency at 1515 hours when it was struck by a compact car at an intersection. The engine then crashed into a condominium building, but the ground floor of the building was unoccupied. The five firefighters suffered minor injuries in the crash, and a 55-year-old woman and a 6-year-old girl in the car were also injured. All seven were transported but none of the injuries appeared life-threatening.
