A Titusville firefighter is accused of putting a dangerous substance in another firefighter’s canteen as part of an ongoing series of incidents. Firefighter-paramedic Randy Moore was arrested today and taken to the Brevard County Jail, according to Titusville police. On Thursday, Lt. Phil Jones discovered a substance in his canteen that smelled like a petroleum-based solvent. According to police, the substance was determined to be “gunk,” or an aerosol cleaning substance – something normally labeled as “dangerous, harmful or fatal is swallowed.”
The incident was one act in a series targeting the victim for more than six months, police said in a release.
Additional charges against another firefighter, who may have been present when Moore put the substance in Jones’ canteen, are being reviewed, according to police.
