Hey,
2 Firefighters with the Mountain View (North Carolina) VFD
were injured Friday when their apparatus rolled over as they were responding to
a call. The crash happened around 1900 when the tanker carrying about 1,000
gallons, went out of control as it was going into a curve, It went off the road
to the right, near a bridge over a creek. The driver turned sharply to the left
in attempt to get the truck back in control, it skidded and rolled onto its
right side, striking the guardrail and spinning clockwise. The driver, Matthew
Hurley II, 19 suffered minor injuries and was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical
Center. Another firefighter, Matthew Wood, 44, suffered arm injuries. He also
was taken to Wake Forest Baptist. Witnesses reported seeing the truck rocking
left to right before the wreck. Speed was not a factor and the run turned out
to be false.
