An Atlanta firefighter was hurt responding to a call Thursday morning.
The firefighter was involved in a crash on the Downtown Connector around 5:30 a.m. Atlanta fire Battalion Chief Paul Cuprowski said firefighters were responding to reports of a burning car.
When firefighters arrived, there was no car fire, but a disabled car was sitting in the emergency lane of Interstate 75 South. Shortly after, a passing car hit a fire engine sitting behind the disabled car, firefighters said.
A firefighter suffered minor injuries to his head and side, firefighters said. He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment. The driver involved in the crash was not hurt.
