PRINCETON, N.J. – August 29, 2011 (WPVI) — An EMT has died after being swept away by fast-moving water during a rescue attempt early Sunday morning in Princeton, New Jersey.
EMT Michael Kenwood died as a result of his injuries during the incident on Rosedale Road.
Swift water rescue technicians were dispatched to determine if anyone was inside.
However, during their return, two of the rescuers slipped. One was able to gain his footing and was pulled to safety, but Kenwood could not.
He was transported to local hospital where he later died.
It was later determined that the vehicle was unoccupied and had been abandoned after being driven into the water.
