We regret to advise you that the Dallas (Texas) Firefighter who was rushed to the hospital late this afternoon after being injured while operating at an apartment fire in southwest Dallas, has died in the Line of Duty. The call for the fire at the Ridgecrest Apartments was transmitted at 1612 hours and additional alarms were transmitted. Initial reports are that Fire Lieutenant Todd Krodle, a 17-year veteran, fell thru the roof while venting the multi family dwelling. He was removed and Firefighters and Medics brought the critically injured/burned Fire Lieutenant down from the second floor and rushed him to Parkland Memorial Hospital, where Lt. Krodle tragically succumbed to his injuries. We’ll post updates in the morning.
