A deadly accident this afternoon involving an ambulance and a dump truck in polk county.
It happened around 1:30 Friday afternoon about a mile east of Fair Play on Highway 32. The ambulance was en route to Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar. The patient in the ambulance is confirmed dead. Four others were taken from the wreck by helicopter to Springfield hospitals.
Officers at the scene say other drivers ahead of the dump truck had slowed down for the oncoming ambulance, but the driver of the dump truck tried to stop too late, went into a skid, crossed the center line and hit the ambulance head on
