A 29-year-old Lehigh Township man allegedly brawled with paramedics and police Sunday morning at his home.

Daniel F. Marx, of the 3700 block of Mountain View Drive, took 120 oxycodone pills in six days, according to court papers, and fought with members of his family. After being put in an ambulance about 7 a.m. Sunday at his home, he broke free from restraints and tried to attack a paramedic, police said.

Paramedics and officers struggled to contain Marx in the ambulance, and he shattered a window during a brawl, police said. Officers eventually used an electric shock weapon on Marx, but to little effect, according to court papers. He was not calmed until medical personnel administered sedatives at a local hospital, police said.

Marx was charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, resisting arrest, public drunkenness, harassment, simple assault and other crimes. He was sent to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $125,000 bail.
