No one was injured in a two-vehicle accident late Monday afternoon that involved a Citizens’ Ambulance Service vehicle.
According Randy Thomas, Citizens’ director of operations, the ambulance crew was heading north on Ninth Street, responding to an emergency call.
He said the crew stopped at the Philadelphia Street intersection, preparing to turn right. However, the driver of a car didn’t wait until the ambulance, which had lights and sirens on, cleared the intersection and accidentally struck the ambulance, causing minor damage, Thomas said.
The ambulance stopped and the service had to dispatch a second ambulance to the call, he said.
